When it's time to get your edge back

Sometimes an edge just needs to be brought back to life. This is caused by use, abuse, or multiple hand sharpenings.

For example, the edges in both the first two pictures have pretty serious damage. To restore those edges will require removing a significant amount of metal.

This metal must be removed evenly from the bevels on both sides while maintaining a flat, even bevel.

No matter how skilled your hand, you will end up with some rounding as shown in the third picture.

Also, over repeated sharpenings the bevel angle gradually becomes less sharp as shown in the last picture. That's when you need our sharpening system to bring it back ... or sometimes to a whole new level.
